2012 Homestead Deadline

Attention Panola Countians....April 01, 2012 is the last day for signing homestead exemption. If you have signed in the pase and have no changes, you will not have to sign a new form.  If you have any of the following changes during the year 2011, you will need to come in and sign a new form.

1.  You or Spouse became 65 years of age.--Bring Proof.

2.  You or Spouse became disabled.--Bring Proof.

3.  Built a new home, bought a different home or bought a mobile home(mobile home must be on your own land.)

4.  Bought or sold land that may possibly be added or deducted from homestead.

5.  You married, divorced or either spouse deceased.

Homestead is only for full-time residents of Panola County, MS.

Toast to Joe Reid

Registration for Rosebloom Recreation Park:

Registration is now ongoing for the 2012 ball season.  This years addition will be 2 girls fastpitch leagues.  Ball forms can be picked up at Little's Express in Charleston, Bloodworth's 4-way in Rosenbloom, KAJCP, Stewart's Sports & More in Grenada or at Geeslin Corner Store.  All forms and fees are due by March 21st.  For more information please contact Charles Lane at 614-1557, Jessica Strider at 614-0835 or find us on Facebook at Rosebloom Recreational Park.

Enid Lake's Clean Up Day

The Enid Lake Volunteers for Waste Management and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct their Annual Clean Up Day Saturday, February 25, 2012 beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Enid Lake.  Volunteers of all ages are needed to help in cleaning up your lake's shoreline and roadways.  There will be food, fun, door prizes, t-shirts, fellowship, and more.  For more information on this event please contact the Enid Lake Field Office at 662-563-4571.

CRP Sign-up

The USDA will be featuring a CRP sign-up program starting March 12th and ending on April 6th.  Producers interested in participating in the program should contact the local USDA office in Batesville.

Lake Carrier/Locke Station School Reunion

DCP/ACRE Sign-up

USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) began the 2012 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program (DCP) sign up on January 23, 2012 and will end June 01, 2012.  Also underway is sign up fot the 2010 Supplemental Revenue Assistance Program (SURE). SURE provides benefits for farm revenue losses in crop year 2010 due to natural disasters.  SURE signup also ends June 1, 2012.  For more information on these and other programs administered by FSA, contact the Panola County FSA  Office at (662-)578-8045, extension 2.
